Time Saving Tips For Busy Moms
The following post was sponsored by Keurig, all opinions are my own.
My life is anything but easy going! I have six kids, four of whom play sports, 3 of them go to school full time, and 3 of them go to school 2 days a week. I clean the house, do laundry, cook meals and write, a lot! My family is constantly on the move, we are either coming or going and I have to say some days, it’s just plain exhausting! Of course I wouldn’t change it for the world.
When people find out my husband and I have a rather large family, they always ask, “How do you do it?” I find this funny because there are days when honestly, I really don’t know how we do it! For the most part though, we do it and we do it pretty well. However, I’m not saying we don’t have a few tricks up our sleeves. Over the last eleven years we have discovered some time savers that truly help us out:
We lay out our clothes the night before. This small little trick is a lifesaver, especially on those mornings we oversleep! It’s so nice knowing that we have one less step to take in the morning and eliminates the morning wardrobe battles
I try and unload the dishwasher as soon as it is finished. This way we can load the dishes as soon as we use them. This truly does save up to an hour of time a week. Now, I can’t honestly say that this gets done regularly, but it is something we set out to do daily. Unloading the dishwasher is also a great chore for the younger kids to help with, or possibly do, on their own!
Our “very scheduled” lives are etched into calendars throughout the house. This helps save time by reducing the search through endless emails about practice and game schedules and panicking about missed appointments. By having everything written down for us all to see helps alleviate miscommunication and confusion. Our days just seem to run smoother having it all in print.
We prepare the coffee pot the night before. Well, we used to do this anyway, until we decided to open the door to the 21st century and walk on in when we got a Keurig! Seriously, even when we would prepare the coffee pot the night before, we felt like we were wasting so much time waiting for a big pot to brew! Actually, we were wasting time, and a whole lot of coffee! We never could get the amount right; it was either too much or not quite enough. We don’t have that problem now that we have our Keurig 2.0 brewing system in the Marsala color. It not only brews a single cup serving but it can also brew a four-cup carafe of coffee in seconds! This comes in handy when the hubs and I both need our cup of joe STAT! The kids are in love with the Keurig too! They can use it to make hot chocolate, tea, and other yummy drinks in so many of our favorite brands. Sometimes I use it as incentive for them to get their chores done. Actually the Keurig is my favorite time saving trick, plus it’s my best, quickest, and easiest way to get a little pick me up throughout the day! I don’t have to load the kids up to make a coffee run anymore. I have my own coffee shop at home and I can still drink my Starbucks from it, because Starbucks makes k-cup pods! There are actually over 400 different beverage varieties from 60+ brands available in the Keurig 2.0 brewing system.
Life is tough enough; why not try to make it a little easier when possible. People tell me that I make having six kids look “easy,” well I’m here to tell you, I’m not super woman; there are no hidden capes in my closet! I have had a few years under my belt to figure out what works and what doesn’t when it comes to saving time. No matter what size your family, I hope these time saving tips help you. Definitely time to invest in a Keurig 2.0 Brewing System. Buy one for yourself (if your hubby or kids can’t take a hint), for your mom, for your best friend for Mother’s Day. It is the must-have, must-gift present. It will make their whole day and is sure to be their favorite gift. Trust me, you’ll thank me – right after they finish thanking you! And, if you use the code MODERNMOM, you’ll get 30% off the purchase of a brewer now until May 30th. Available to the first 200 people to use it!
