Protect Those Assets! Interesting Celebrity Insurance Policies
You’ve probably seen the news that former Playboy model and Las Vegas burlesque show star Holly Madison just took out $1 million insurance policy on her breasts.
But she’s not the first celebrity to place a monetary value on a physical asset.
Here are a few other stars over the years who have taken out “interesting” insurance policies:
Singer Bruce Springsteen insured his voice for $6 million.
Jennifer Lopez cover her assets with a $27 million policy on her famous rear end.
Far from needing the braces that her character on Ugly Betty is known for, America Ferrera insured her smile for $10 million.
Heidi Klum’s gorgeous gams are insured for $2.2 million. But it’s not an even split – one is worth $1.2 million and the other a paltry $1 million. Why the difference? Apparently one leg has a scar on it.
In the 1940s Bette Davis has a physical attribute insured – but it wasn’t her eyes! The Hollywood starlet took out a policy on her waistline – $28,000 against losing her figure. (That’s about $357,000 today.)
Even though he’s an athlete, NFL star Troy Polamalu didn’t insure his hands or legs. Instead, he took out a $1 million insurance policy on his mane of curls.
It shouldn’t really be such a surprise: If we’ve learned anything from Tom Brady, it’s that football players really care about their hair.
As the Lord of the Dance, he’s not taking any chances with his legs! Michael Flatley insured his lightning fast appendages for $40 million.
What body part or attribute would you insure?
