7 Tips for Making Fresh Fruit Popsicles
Popsicles are an iconic summertime food. I remember eating those red white and blue “bomb pops” every summer as a kid. As a parent, I read the ingredients of those things, and they’re full of artificial colors and high fructose corn syrup. Why would I feed that stuff to my kids when I can give them fresh fruit popsicles.
All you need for fresh fruit popsicles is a popsicle mold, fresh fruit, and 100% fruit juice.
Here are 7 tips for making fresh fruit popsicles:
-Cut fruit into bite sized pieces
-Use bright, bold colored fruit. We eat with our eyes first!
-Use clear juice like apple or white grape if you want to show off the fruit.
-Use the fruit that’s on sale. If strawberries are inexpensive, my kids will be eating strawberry popsicles.
-Buy your popsicle mold at the dollar store. If a stick breaks or gets lost, you won’t feel bad replacing it.
-Let your kids help make the popsicles. Even the littlest of toddlers can drop fruit into a popsicle mold.
-Freeze for at least 4 hours before eating, but overnight is best.
