Test Drive: 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander GT
I was recently selected to take a brand new 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander GT out for a week-long test drive… and oh, what a week!
My mother was flying in to town the same weekend I picked up the vehicle, and got bumped flights to San Diego at the last second. What a perfect way to test out some of the new, updated features!
Having never been to SAN (the San Diego airport) before, I needed a little help with directions. Thankfully, there was a touch-screen GPS. After finally figuring out how to work it, it led me directly to the airport with time to spare.
I loved all of the controls located right on my steering wheel – audio control, hands-free Bluetooth calling, and even voice recognition. It definitely made the two hour drive easier to manage with so much control at my finger tips.
The following day, my sister decided she wanted to come down for a visit as well. She jumped on a flight and we all loaded up (dog included) and went to pick her up from LAX. Even with four adults, luggage, and a dog that thinks he’s much bigger than he actually is, there was plenty of room to spare without even utilizing the third row seats.
I like to be a good host and keep my guests entertained – that’s where the fold-down DVD player comes in! We popped in an action movie and with the Rockford Fosgate sound system it literally sounded like we were in the movie theater – and what’s better, it came with wireless headphones so I could listen to the XM Satellite radio instead.
Overall, the Outlander was a smooth, comfortable way to haul around my family and pup safely for the week – and do it all in style!
