Blue Bell Recalls All Products
Don’t even think about eating ice cream without reading this! Blue Bell recalled all of its products, yes, everything, including everything currently on store shelves throughout the nation due to potential listeria contamination.
The company made a statement that they are recalling their products (ice cream, frozen yogurt, sherbet and frozen snacks) based on test results that half-gallons of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream contained Listeria.
“We are heartbroken over this situation and apologize to all our loyal Blue Bell fans and customers. Our entire history has been dedicated to making the highest quality ice cream we possibly could and we’re committed to fixing the problem. Ice cream is a joy and a pleasure to eat. It certainly is for me and I do it everyday and it should never be a cause for concern. And for that, we do apologize and we are going to get it right,” Paul Kruse, president and CEO of Blue Bell said.
The company said Monday’s nationwide recall includes products distributed to retail outlets, food service accounts, convenience stores and supermarkets in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wyoming and even some international locations.
Blue Bell said the products will be off store shelves for at least two to three weeks until they determine the source of the bacteria.
