When it comes to babes, Hollywood is full of ’em! Lest you think I’m talking about "mmm, mmm good" celebrity bods, let’s get this straight: I’m talking about BABIES!
Some of La La Land’s biggest stars are actually the smallest if you’re measuring by body size. Suri Cruise, Violet and Seraphina Affleck, Kingston and Zuma Rossdale, the Jolie-Pitt clan — these little cuties all have famous parents who are not shy about showing off their mini-me’s.
And it looks like other Hollywood-ites have been getting a little jealous! Celebs from Sunset Blvd. to 5th Ave. have excitedly been announcing their pregnancies for the past year. In fact, People magazine called 2010 "The Year of the Baby", which is a totally accurate description of the calendar, according to us!
Let’s take a look at Hollywood’s baby boom…
Mariah Carey and hubby Nick Cannon announced that they’re having twins in late 2010 after Mama-to-be Carey ran into President and First Lady Obama backstage at a performance. The Obamas asked Mariah about her growing belly and she coudn’t keep the secret any longer!
The talented and beautiful Natalie Portman announced she had a baby on-the-way AND that she was engaged. The lucky man? Black Swan choreographer Benjamin Millepied.
A more recent announcement is that of Kate Hudson, who revealed that she is pregnant with the child of her boyfriend Matthew Bellamy, the hunky frontman of the band Muse. "She was always excited to have kids again at some point," a source said.
Speaking of Hudson, the actress’s ex-boyfriend Owen Wilson shared some big news with the world earlier this month. Wilson’s girlfriend gave birth to their son, Robert Ford, just days after the couple announced they were expecting a child.
Alicia Silverstone joined the pregnancy bandwagon as well! "I’ve been wanting to have a baby since I was 2 years old–I’m destined to be a mother," she gushed back in April 2010.
One of the world’s most well known power families is also expecting an addition this year. Victoria and David Beckham are pregnant with their fourth child. Maybe the mom of three boys will have a daughter this time around?
Former boxer Laila Ali debuted her belly (with baby #2!) back in November. After having a kid, "staying fit is a challenge, even if you are a former athlete such as myself," she admitted. "You just don’t have the energy that you used to have.”
Rumors sparked last September when Penélope Cruz was seen on the set of "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" sporting a flowy shirt to cover a possible baby bump. The actress and her new husband Javier Bardem announced soon after that they were expecting their first child.
The ever-so-lovely Jennifer Connelly is pregnant with her third child with husband Paul Bettany. And by baby #3, she’s used to the pregnancy routine. "I had to stand in one spot, which happened to be in front of my refrigerator, which was open, with me dipping pretzels in cream cheese and stuffing them in my mouth,” she laughed about the morning sickness.
Former "Sister, Sister" star Tia Mowry is going to have a baby with her hubby Cory Hardrict. A child is "something that they’ve wanted for a long time," a source said about the couple. They’ll be thrilled come July when the baby is expected to arrive!
Pink and Carey Hart’s baby is due this April. On the Ellen DeGeneres Show, the singer joked, "My mom has always wished me a daughter just like me…I’m terrified one of us will go to jail.”
Former (and current!) boy bander Joey McIntyre and wife Barrett will welcome their third kid in May. "Three’s the new nine!" laughed McIntyre, who is one of nine children himself.
The adorably sassy Christina Applegate is getting ready for her first child with her fiancé, Martyn Lenoble. What kind of parent will she be? "I’ll probably be a little bit hippie and a little bit Type A," she predicted.
David Schwimmer and new wife Zoe Buckman will welcome a new "Friend" later this year. The couple "couldn’t be more thrilled."
Another entrepreneur baby will grace the U.S. soon. Yes, the savvy businesswoman Ivanka Trump announced she is expecting a baby as well. Will The Donald make a good Grandpa?
