Relieving Dry Skin: Part Two

Dry skin just doesn’t effect the body, feet and hands. Many of us also have chapped lips and a dry flakey complexion. It is very important to keep the skin hydrated and moisturized as much as possible. Using a light moisturizer during the day and a heavier one at night is always good practice. Skin creams can range from $5.00 to $800.00, it really just depends on what you can afford and the results that you are looking for.
I will be very honest and say that I have never seen a skin cream that works miracles overnight, but with plenty of water and regular use of a good skin cream, the skin can be firmed and elasticity restored. There is a lot of science that goes into the formulation of these creams which contain rare and pharmaceutical grade ingredients for firming, line reducing and re-texturing. Some of my favorite inexpensive products are from Roc and Neutrogena and are available at most drugstores or at www.ulta.com. If you got a little more money to spend, I love the Age Prevention Line from Shu Uemura, which is available at www.shuuemura.com. The Re-Nutrive and Advanced Night Repair lines from Estee Lauder are my absolute favorites! I use these two lines on a daily basis and consistently, I have seen a change for the better in my skin.
During the Winter and Summer months the thin skin on the lips tends to take a toll. Using a lip balm with SPF 15 regularly will help reduce dry or chapped lips. I am a bit of a Lip-Balm-Aholic and use many different brands. Some of my favorites include Jack Black Mint Lip Balm, Epicuren Discovery Lip Balm with Tea Tree Oil,  Energizing Pomegranate Lip Protector and Rose Bud Salve is always a nice option. However, the Rose Bud Salve does not contain SPF.
