Fashion Friday: How to Add Pops of Color
Summertime calls for bright, cheery colors, but many of the season’s best clothes are neutrals. So, in order to combine both the neutral and bright trends, I created a neutral outfit and used accessories to add two vibrant pops of color.
You probably already know that adding a splash of color is a great way to punch up an outfit, but it can be a little trickier to add two pops of color.
To avoid looking matchy-matchy, I chose Proenza Schouler’s PS1 bag in yellow as the main megawatt accessory, and then added a more subtle pop of color in the form of these red, gray and black Balenciaga heels.
They gray and black tones in the Balenciaga shoes tie back into the outfit perfectly, while the red tone works with all of the colors incorporated into my outfit, including yellow.
The key is to choose two bold colors that work well together, but to also make sure they are not placed right next to each other.
