Ford Recalls Trucks Due to Gas Tank Problem
Ford Motor Co. is recalling 1.1 million pickup trucks because of a serious problem–the gas tank can fall off and cause a fire! Certain Ford F-150, F-250 and Lincoln Blackwood models are being recalled, from the 1997 model year through the 2004 model year. They were sold in cold-weather states where salt is used to clear roads. That salt can corrode straps holding the tanks in place, and the tanks can rupture and cause a fire.
Ford Recalls 150,000 F-150 Trucks
Ford Motor Co. announced Wednesday that it’s recalling 150,000 F-150 pickup trucks in the U.S. and Canada due to a potential airbag problem. The recalled trucks were produced between November 2004 and June 2005 at Ford’s Norfolk, Va., assembly plant. In the U.S., 135,000 trucks are being recalled and 9,000 more are being recalled in Canada.
