Prince William: “Catherine and George Are My Priorities”
Did you need more proof that Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and owner of my heart, is the very best?
The new dad sat down with CNN for his first official interview since the birth of his son George and no, he could not be any more adorable when he gushes about his little boy.
“He’s a little bit of a rascal, I’ll put it that way,” William said. “He either reminds me of my brother or me when I was younger, I’m not sure, but he’s doing very well at the moment.”
“He’s growing quite quickly actually. But he’s a little fighter — he wriggles around quite a lot and he doesn’t want to go to sleep that much.”
William, 31, talked about the moment that he and wife Kate introduced the baby to the world on the steps of St. Mary’s Hospital:
“As any new parent knows, you’re only too happy to show off your new child and, you know, proclaim that he is the best looking or the best everything. It’s nice that people want to see George — I’m just glad he wasn’t screaming his head off the whole way through,” he joked.
He also revealed that he spent a little time practicing with the car seat in order to pull it off smoothly on the big day..
“Believe me, it wasn’t my first time,” he admitted. “I had to practice, I really did. I was terrified that I was going to do something… it was going to fall off or it wasn’t going to close properly.. so I had actually practiced.”
William is heading back to work as a Royal Air Force search-and-rescue pilot, but his three-year tour ends next month and he is expected to return to London to spend time with his family and take on more royal duties.
“For me, Catherine and now little George are my priorities — and Lupo [the couple’s dog],” William said with a smile.
The full interview – Prince William’s Passion: New Father, New Hope – will air on CNN on September 15 at 10:00 p.m. ET.
