“Full House” Star Jodie Sweetin Files for Separation
After slightly more than a year of marriage, Jodie Sweetin is seeking legal separation from her husband Morty Coyle.
According to court documents filed in Los Angeles on Monday, the 31-year-old actress cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the separation.
Sweetin is seeking custody of the couple’s daughter Beatrix, 2, as well as ownership of their 2000 Toyota Avalon.
The pair tied the knot in a private ceremony in March 2012, and kept the nuptials a secret for a year – finally releasing the news on their one-year wedding anniversary.
“I don’t think anything in the world could be better than what I have,” she told People in 2011.
This is Sweetin’s third marriage. She was previously wed to Cody Herpin (with whom she has a 5-year-old daughter Zoie) and Shaun Holguin.
As for how the split has affected the actress, a source told Us Weekly that “She seems in good spirits. She’s sober still so she’s in way better shape than last time.”
Sweetin, who played Stephanie Tanner on the hit ’90s comedy, struggled with substance abuse in the years following Full House.
She opened up about her addiction to various drugs including meth, ecstasy and coke in her 2009 memoir, unSweetined.
