Danica McKellar Files for Divorce
Danica McKellar has filed for divorce from her composer husband Mike Verta after three years of marriage.
The 37-year-old actress cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split in paperwork filed Monday in L.A. Superior Court.
McKellar posted a message on Twitter: “Thank you so much for all your love and support during a tough time!”
She is seeking joint physical and legal custody of the couple’s one-year-old son, Draco. “I am saddened by the end of my marriage,” she told TMZ. “However, we are committed to raising our son together and we are focused on remaining the best parents we can be.”
McKellar is best known for her role as girl-next-door, Winnie Cooper on “The Wonder Years” as well as guest appearances on “The West Wing.” She has also written three math books geared toward girls like, “Math Doesn’t Suck,” and “Kiss My Math.”
