Almost three months after the couple separated, Heidi Klum has officially filed for divorce from Seal.
The supermodel filed a petition on Friday afternoon in Los Angeles Superior Court, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
“While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate,” Klum, 38, said when the couple announced the split.
“We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart.”
The couple has four children – Leni, 7, Henry, 6, Johan, 5, and Lou, 2. Seal adopted Leni, Klum’s daughter from a previous relationship, in 2009.
She has requested joint legal custody of their kids, but wants primary physical custody, with Seal, 49, getting visitation rights. She also wants to judge to legally restore her maiden name – Klum.
