Jay-Z Reveals Past Pregnancy Struggles, Miscarriage in “Glory”
To celebrate the birth of his baby girl with Beyonce, proud papa Jay-Z has released a tribute track where he gushes over his new daughter…. as well as opening up about the couple’s past pregnancy struggles.
In “Glory,” which was posted on his website Monday, the 42-year-old rapper dropped a bombshell, revealing that Beyonce suffered a miscarriage before conceiving their newborn daughter, Blue Ivy.
“Last time the miscarriage was so tragic/We was afraid you’d disappear/But nah baby you magic.”
He also alluded to difficulties that Beyonce, 30, faced getting pregnant. The rapper mentioned the “false alarms and false starts…all the pain of the last time, prayed so hard it was the last time.”
But the song, which includes an audio sample of an infant (likely Blue) crying, isn’t focused on the pain of the past. It goes on to share Jay-Z’s abundant happiness at being a father.
“The most amazing feeling I feel, words can’t describe what I’m feeling for real / Baby, I paint the sky blue, my greatest creation was you.”
