Madonna Plans To Release A New Album In 2012

The Material Girl is getting back in the studio to record her 12th album!

She made the big announcement at the Venice Film Festival, while promoting her directorial debut – W.E.

“I’ve started a little bit of work in the studio,” she told Swedish Sveriges Television during an interview. She said she plans to work on the album in New York for the rest of this year.

Madonna also revealed that the first single is expected to drop in February or March, with the album coming out in Spring 2012.

The follow up to “Hard Candy” – which sold more than 3.8 million copies worldwide, will be her first album with a new label: in 2008, she split with Warner Bros. and signed with Live Nation.
