Daily Baby: Gwyneth Reveals Post-Partum Depression, Ashlee's Dad Hitting Mag's Up for Cash
Gwyneth Paltrow reveals in the May issue of Vogue that she battled post-partum depression after welcoming her second child, son Moses, in 2006. “I didn’t know I had it until after it was over,” the actress, 35, says. “I just didn’t know what was wrong with me…I felt really disconnected. I felt really down … I felt pessimistic.”
Ashlee Simpson‘s dad and manager, Joe Simpson, is trying to cash in on the baby-crazed trend in celebrity magazines, but he’s not having much luck. A source tells Page Six, “Joe is contacting all the weeklies and asking them to pony up $1 million to put Ashlee on the cover.” The deal would “include photos of Ashlee – taken by Joe, of course, so he can make more money – an interview and photos of the baby when she has it,” the source said. One magazine editor said the pictures would get “$60,000 maybe, but definitely not a million. The timing is a little suspicious. Her album [‘Bittersweet World’] is dropping next week, and there was little to no interest until now. Ashlee’s lucky she got pregnant, frankly.”
Rob Lowe‘s former nanny, Jessica Gibson, is getting a photo spread in People magazine. “Jessica has nothing to hide, and we wonder if Mr. Lowe will take that position as well,” attorney Gloria Allred, who has a May 19 date to depose the former Brat Packer, said of her client–who on April 14 filed suit accusing both Rob, 41, and Sheryl Lowe, 46, of sexual harassment and behavior that was “offensive, insulting, unwelcome, mean, perverted, crude and lascivious.” The
Lowes’ attorney says Jessica’s claims are false, effectively calling her a liar, according to People.
