How to Make a Tutu Skirt
Want to make the perfect gift for any baby shower? Or give your little ballerina an adorable new dress-up option?
Tulle tutus are fluffy, frothy and so much fun!
Now you can make one at home in a flash with this simple tutorial for a child’s tutu skirt.
Supplies
- Spools of tulle
- Scissors
- Elastic strip
- Measuring tape
- Old jewelry or other decorative accents
Directions
Cut tulle into strips about 18 inches long.
Measure the waist of the baby or child and add two inches. Cut an elastic strip of that length.
Fold a strip of tulle in half – hold in one hand. Pick up the elastic strip with the other hand.
Open up the loop of the tulle and pull the ends through so that it is knotted to the strip of elastic. Continue adding strips of tulle until your skirt is at desired level of fluffiness.
Tie the ends of the elastic together and snip off the edges. Use extra pieces of tulle to cover the knot.
So cute!
Last but not least, get creative! Find old jewelry or other sparkly accessories to decorate your tutu.
