Best Fireworks Shows Across the U.S — Happy Fourth!

What’s the best thing about the Fourth of July? Next to getting a day off (even though this year is on a Sunday) work, it’s the fireworks! Everyone feels like a kid when watching a fireworks show, no matter how old you are. Here are the top firework shows in major cities across the U.S. Obviously, we couldn’t include every city, but if yours is missing from the list, then write a comment below and share with where your family enjoys fireworks on the Fourth!

Los Angeles, CA

This Fourth will be “Americafest 2010,” the 84th Annual 4th o f July celebration at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. It’s the self-proclaimed “biggest and best fireworks show in Southern California.” Enjoy a full day of safe and affordable family fun, including live music, a military tribute and food.

New York City, NY

If the Rose Bowl is the biggest fireworks show in S. Cali, then the Macy’s 4th of July fireworks show is the biggest in America! The show claims to have “over 400,000 dazzling displays of color and jaw-dropping effects bursting over Manhattan’s skyline.” Can’t be there this Independence Day? Well, you can watch all the action on TV, broadcast live on NBC.

Chicago, IL

This year, the historic Navy Pier in Chicago will sync their fireworks display with a specially-choreographed soundtrack of American themed and patriotic songs, such as “Star Spangled Banner” by Whitney Houston and “Rock in the USA” by John Mellencamp. It promises to be an evening to remember.

New Orleans, LA

Ranked 5th “must see” fireworks display in the U.S. by the American Pyrotechnic association, the 20th Annual Go 4th on the River is a huge celebration on the New Orleans riverfront. Don’t miss the entertainment and spectacular fireworks show.

Washington D.C.

As the nation’s capitol, it has to have one of the best fireworks shows around, right? The Fourth of July celebration on the National Mall launches fireworks from the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool and lights up the sky over the Washington Monument. It’s the hands-down best place to be celebrating our nation’s birth!

Phoenix, AZ

The Freedom Wireless Fabulous Phoenix Fourth Festival (try saying that 5 times!) has loads of all-day entertainment, from inflatable rides to a Classic Car exhibit. There will also be a giant misting area to keep your family cool in the scorching Arizona sun. Oh, and not to mention, the fabulous fireworks extravaganza!

Philadelphia, PA

The fireworks that explode atop the Philadelphia Museum of Art top many lists for best fireworks displays. This year, there will be a free concert in front of the museum featuring performers like The Goo Goo Dolls and The Roots.

Orlando, FL

You simply can’t beat Disney World for the Fourth. While it has a fireworks show every night, the Fourth of July display is much longer and features a special finale that includes a full five minutes of 360-degree panoramic fireworks bursting all around the perimeter of the theme park.

The Fourth is About Family and Friends

Can’t make it to a fireworks display this year? As long as you’re with family and friends this Fourth of July, it doesn’t matter where you are. Enjoy the time together!
