Despite Anne Heche’s full-time career as an actress, she describes motherhood as “calmer” the second time around. Heche, 40, works full time on the series Hung and she’s a mom to two boys, Homer, 7 and Atlas, 4 1/2 months.
An actor’s strike gave her the opportunity to slow down and enjoy her pregnancy with her second child, but the relaxation didn’t last long. Just 8 days after the birth of Atlas, Heche went back to work.
Even though her life is hectic, baby Atlas’ temperament is definitely helping to keep the household calm. “He’s just so easy I can’t believe it. He cracks a smile every time he opens his eyes and he’s a real bundle of joy,” the actress said.
Anne’s philosophy about motherhood helps her focus on what’s really important. “I think that helps as a mom, to be able to really take in the experience in maybe just a little bit slower way rather than being just so panicked about whether you’re doing this right,” she says.
