The Daily Baby: Nicole and Joel's Date Night & David Beckham Makes A Fan Faint

Heath Ledger was laid to rest on Saturday in Australia. The actor was cremated and his friends and family gathered for a wake at one of his favorite spots, the Indiana Tea House on Cottesloe Beach…Michelle Williams read Shakespeare at the service and some of Heath’s favorite songs were played, including the Beatles’ “Here Comes the Sun.” As the sun set, the guests decided to go for an impromptu dip in the ocean, some stripping down to their skivvies and others going in fully clothed, including Michelle. “It’s exactly what Heath would have wanted,” one mourner told People magazine. May Heath rest in peace.

Saturday night Nicole Richie and Joel Madden got a break from diaper duty to go out for a night on the town. The couple first went to the grand opening party for the Eli Broad Contemporary Art Museum in L.A., (new mom Christina Aguilera and Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were also in attendance), and then hit up Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammy party at the Beverly Hilton hotel–but the new parents didn’t stay out too late. According to Us Weekly, Joel was overheard telling a friend at 11:40 p.m., “We have to get home! She [Harlow] only sleeps three hours at a time. She’s with Grandma now, but if she wakes up…”

We know David Beckham is hot, but one fan proved it by fainting when the dad of three gave her a peck on the cheek at Jermaine Dupri’s pre-Grammy party at Hollywood’s Club Central this weekend. David spent most of the evening hanging out with Jermaine and his girlfriend, Janet Jackson, but when a young female fan approached the soccer star and got a kiss on the cheek from him, she literally went weak in the knees ­ and fainted! But, David handled the situation calmly. “He looked like it was an ordinary everyday thing,” an observer said. “He just said ‘Get her some water. She’ll be ok.”
