Tips on Making Hair Healthy
Keeping your hair healthy or helping unwanted hair problems such as excessive oil don’t always require expensive salon visits or hair care products, according to CNN and “Cosmopolitan Magazine.” You might already have everything you need at home to take good care of your hair, including some classic cooking ingredients.
Great Scent Tips
If you have ever noticed your hair starts to smell not so fresh during the day, you might want to try this tip from “Cosmopolitan Magazine.” Spray your favorite perfume or scented body spray into the bristles of your hair brush, then run that classic styling implement through your locks. This will help your tresses smell much better until you can get back home to do some hair washing.
Don’t Be Scared of the Shampoo
Some hair experts note it’s not a good idea to wash your hair more than a couple of times a week, but you really can safely shampoo that mane five times a week, according to CNN. Also, in an interview with this television network, Marianne O’Donoghue, an associate professor of dermatology at Rush Medical Center in Chicago, noted that it is fine for women and men alike to use classic shampoos; this could even be a two-in-one shampoo and conditioner product. However, O’Donoghue notes that you should still be careful what type of shampoo you select; don’t use a dry scalp shampoo for oily hair and vice versa in your efforts to maintain or gain healthy locks.
Do Watch That Blow Dryer
Blow drying is not as potentially dangerous as some moms might think, but you must still be mindful when using such heating devices on or near your tresses, said Johnny Lavoy, owner of the Moda Rey Salon and Spa, in West Hartford, Connecticut, in an interview with CNN. You can indeed blow dry your hair every time you wash it and keep it healthy, but you should move the dryer regularly rather than keep it in one spot to best protect your locks. Also, CNN recommends ladies consider applying a heat-protection product such as Warren Tricomi Protect Pre-Dry Calming Serum before getting out that hair dryer.
Use Vinegar for Shiny Hair
You probably have some vinegar in your kitchen, and “Cosmopolitan Magazine” recommends that women mix one part vinegar with four parts carbonated water for a natural hair shine solution. Apply the mixture to your dry locks and leave it on for about 15 minutes. You can then follow up with your ordinary shampooing routine.
