Valco Baby and Tike Tech Jogging Strollers Recalled Due to Strangulation Hazard
A recall was anounced Wednesday on two brands of jogging strollers: Valco Baby Tri Mode Single and Twin Jogging Strollers and Tike Tech Single City X3 and X3 Sport Jogging Strollers.
About 12,000 Valco Baby strollers were recalled while 800 Tike Tech strollers were included in the recall.
The opening between the grab bar and seat bottom of the stroller can allow a baby's body to pass through and become trapped at the neck by the grab bar, posing a strangulation hazard when a child is not harnessed. Parents are encouraged to always secure their kids into the stroller using the safety harness and to never leave them unattended.
Consumers should immediately remove the grab bar from the stroller and contact Valco Baby or Tike Tech to receive a free replacement grab bar. You can visit their websites at www.valcobaby.com or www.tiketech.com for more details about this voluntary recall.
