Yearly, many families travel to Los Angeles to enjoy some fun and relaxation together. Parents with young children in tow visit this famous city to see the amusement parks and other attractions. There are a lot of places to go to in and around the Los Angeles area that are within driving distance from each other. All of them offer hours of enjoyment for young and old alike.

Disneyland Park and California Adventures

When families think of Los Angeles, most think of Disneyland. Although this famous amusement park is not within the city of Los Angeles, it is in the nearby vicinity of Anaheim, California. Famous for its rides and attractions, Disneyland is a Mecca for families with small children. There are rides that toddlers can enjoy, rides that the parents can tag along. The “It’s a Small World” ride is one of those rides safe for young children, where they can enjoy watching different nations represented by dolls while on board a small boat. Part of the Disneyland Park Resorts is the California Adventures right next door. There, the toddlers can enjoy walking and enjoying the miniature scenic spots. Mickey’s Toontown located at Disneyland Park is a place for toddlers to see beloved characters, watch shows and ride the kiddy rides. Then, they can also enjoy the parades at Main Street. Knotts Berry Farm

Boasting as America’s first theme park, Knotts Berry Farm is another amusement park where children of all ages can have fun close to Los Angeles. Located at 8039 Beach Boulevard, Buena Park, California it offers kiddy rides at Camp Snoopy. Knotts Berry Farm even offers special events for families with small children, where parents can choose for half day or full day fun. Watch Snoopy and his friends sing and dance at the Camp Snoopy Theatre, where your toddler can even get a hug from the Snoopy, Charlie Brown or Lucy.

Los Angeles Zoo

Owned and operated by the City of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. except on December 25. You can find it at 5333 Zoo Drive, Los Angeles, California. Toddlers will see different animals and learn what they are. They have different exotic birds, mammals, invertebrates, amphibians and plants.

The Natural History Museum

Encourage your child at an early age to learn more about the natural and cultural worlds as presented at the Natural History Museum. Toddlers will learn about dinosaurs at the Dinosaur Encounters, where two life-sized juvenile dinosaur puppets roam the halls of the museum. Children can talk to, dance and take photographs with, as well as, pet the dinosaurs. You can find the Natural History Museum at 900 Exposition Boulevard, Los Angeles, California. It is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
