Spicy Roasted Cauliflower – The Perfect Healthy Snack!
Cauliflower is so versatile and good for us, but sometimes it can be a little bland.
Here’s a simple way to enjoy cauliflower as a side dish or healthy snack that also adds a ton of flavor and is on the list of the top six vegetables with the most protein!
Ingredients
- 1 large head of cauliflower, washed and cut into bite size florets
- Olive oil
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
- Black pepper
- Salt
Directions
Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees. Place cauliflower in a bowl and drizzle with olive oil, making sure to coat it well. Add salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes, and mix with hands or utensils.
Place florets evenly on a cookie sheet and bake for 20-30 minutes turning every 10 minutes. The cauliflower should be tender and a golden brown. Sometimes, I like to cook it till it’s a dark brown, but it’s up to you.
You will notice the cauliflower has a sweeter and richer taste to it from roasting it. I substitute this recipe for popcorn when I watch a movie at home.
You can also play with different oils and seasonings. Garlic powder, cheese, sesame oil and other herbs are just a few ideas to make it your own. Have fun with it!
