A Balancing Act: Stacey Levine

By Samantha Ettus

Stacey and Jonathan Levine,
Co-founders of GOSMILE

With a contagious smile, Stacey Levine is the mom you would want as your best friend or sister. As a mother of two teenage boys (Julian, 18 and Cody, 15) and the co-founder of GoSmile, the renowned smile beauty company she started with her husband

Jonathan, Stacey Levine is busier and more successful than ever. Both wistful and inspirational, Stacey took time out to share her experience of relying on her family for help balancing it all.

Samantha:Your career seems to have become even busier as your kids have been getting older. Is that a coincidence?

Stacey: It seems that as my children grow, so does my appetite to build my career. I have enjoyed including my kids in the development of my business and enabling them to participate in this journey with me. I don't see it as a coincidence but more a function of design and timing.

SE: Raising two sons, was it important to you to show them that they hada working mom? What is their perception of your career now?

SL: When my boys were young, I rushed home to be there when they returned from school. Part of me wanted to hide that I had been away because I wanted them to know that I was there for them. I crammed more work into less time but managed to balance it. I cooked before I left, crammed it all in, and was there to greet them at the door after sports or to pick them up for after school activities.

In the last 5 years, I have celebrated every minute of my work with them. There is no downplaying it. They respect what I do, and are proud of what I am accomplishing. They cherish our time and they think it is really cool to have a mom that is doing great things and working hard. We chat about what I do all the time. Just like I ask them how their day is, they do the same to me. That makes me smile.

I am happy to show them that women make a difference at home and in work and need to be appreciated for all that they do.
