It’s A Girl for Gymnast Dominique Moceanu

Olympic gold-winning gymnast Dominique Moceanu and her husband, Dr. Michael Canales, welcomed daughter Carmen Noel Canales, on Christmas Day. Carmen is their first child and was born at Cleveland's MacDonald Women's Hospital. Dominique told People magazine, "The miracle of baby Carmen being born on Christmas Day makes this wonderful time all the more special to us. This is the best Christmas present we could have ever received!" |
Dominique, now 26, became a household name in 1996 when she competed, and won the gold medal, at the summer Olympics as part of the U.S. women's gymnastics team (aptly nicknamed the Magnificent Seven). Her hubby Michael, 30, is also a former gymnast and practices podiatric surgery in Cleveland.
