How Nicole Richie Balances Motherhood and Work – By Designing Her Own Jewelry Line!

After giving birth to baby Harlow earlier this year, Nicole Richie is moving her career in a new direction—costume jewelry. The former “Simple Life” star says designing pieces is a natural step for her, as she loves to mix and match jewelry.  Plus, now that she’s a mom, she finds designing a great flexible job. “Everyone’s been really mellow and able to work around my schedule, she says. “If I need to go feed the baby, I do it.”

The yet-to-be-named line is being produced by the Mouawad company, which also produces Heidi Klum‘s jewelry collection, Perez Hilton reports. However, this isn’t the only new venture for Nicole. She is also planning to create a line of infant and children’s clothing, which should come out later this year. Nicole may even her coming out with her own fragrance, following the footsteps of old pal Paris Hilton. I will be interested to see how her designs turn out—especially the clothing. No one knows better than moms what kinds of garb is best for babies and kids, and it will be interesting to see how Nicole’s parenting experiences plays a role in her designs
