Poppy Montgomery Welcomes a Son

"Without a Trace" actress Poppy Montgomery and her boyfriend, actor Adam Kaufman, welcomed a son, Jackson Philip Kaufman, in Los Angeles. Jackson was born on December 23 and is the first child for both Poppy and Adam. The new parents are "over the moon," at the arrival of their son, says Poppy's rep.

Britney Spears Placed on Mental Lockdown

Britney Spears was placed on lockdown for a 72-hour mental evaluation Friday after the pop star confined herself in a room with one of her children at her Los Angeles home.

Britney was hospitalized late Thursday night after locking herself in a room with Jayden, 1, and refused to hand him over to ex-husband Kevin Federline. According to police Britney appeared to be "under the influence of an unknown substance." Photographed being strapped to a gurney, she was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

A source told People magazine that the pop star's court-appointed child monitor called police. "She had already put SeanPreston, 2, in the car when Britney locked herself in a room with Jayden," says the source.

The evaluation, known as a "5150 Hold," is, according to the medical code, "When any person, as a result of mental disorder, is a danger to others, or to [herself], or is gravely disabled." Britney will be on a minimum 72-hour evaluation until deemed fit to leave.

New Year’s Pregnancy Buzz

Four days into the New Year and the Mommywood air is abuzz with pregnancy rumors!

One that seems to be true is that crooner Robin Thicke's wife Paula Patton, who starred in "Déjà Vu" opposite Denzel Washington, is pregnant. Paula was seen sporting a huge baby bump at a New Year's Eve party this past week and rumors have circulated since September's MTV Video Music Awards that Robin and Paula are expecting.

No official announcement has yet been made by the couple but the bump doesn't lie!

The blogs are also buzzing with rumors of Jennifer Aniston being pregnant. But, judging from photos of Jen vacationing with pals Courteney Cox and David Arquette in Los Cabos, the former Friends star only shows off perfectly toned abs and her fabulous 38-year old body.

This not-so-"blind item" about another supposedly pregnant celeb appeared in the New York Post's Page Six column earlier this week:

"WHICH 40ish actress has finally gotten pregnant for the first time? Her rep is denying it because she's only a month into it, and has suffered miscarriages in the past. Said our source: 'Watch for her to get bangs and start wearing hats to hide her sagging face because you can't be on Botox when you are pregnant.'"

Jen Garner Named West Virginian of the Year

2007 has been quite a year for Jennifer Garner, mom to Violet, 2. Her performances, as a hopeful mom in "Juno," and as Roxane in Broadway¹s "Cyrano de Bergerac," have earned her rave reviews, but this hard-working mama is getting kudos not only from the critics, but also from her own home state.

She was bestowed the honor this year, "for her dedication, work ethic and unique role as role model and ambassador for West Virginia," according to her hometown paper, the Charleston's Sunday Gazette-Mail.

Jen first moved to West Virginia when she was four years old, in 1976, her mother, Pat Garner, told the Gazette-Mail, "She's pretty passionate about her love of West Virginia. She just considers it home." To show her appreciation for the honor, Jen penned an email to the paper, noting what makes West Virginia special to her. "I like to do the things that are familiar. I like to see people I grew up with. I always go to Taylor Books. I love going home to my church -­ Christ Church United Methodist. I probably visit a Dairy Queen, and I love the farmer's market."
