Britney Spears Placed on Mental Lockdown
Britney Spears was placed on lockdown for a 72-hour mental evaluation Friday after the pop star confined herself in a room with one of her children at her Los Angeles home.

Britney was hospitalized late Thursday night after locking herself in a room with Jayden, 1, and refused to hand him over to ex-husband Kevin Federline. According to police Britney appeared to be "under the influence of an unknown substance." Photographed being strapped to a gurney, she was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
A source told People magazine that the pop star's court-appointed child monitor called police. "She had already put SeanPreston, 2, in the car when Britney locked herself in a room with Jayden," says the source.
The evaluation, known as a "5150 Hold," is, according to the medical code, "When any person, as a result of mental disorder, is a danger to others, or to [herself], or is gravely disabled." Britney will be on a minimum 72-hour evaluation until deemed fit to leave.

Jen Garner Named West Virginian of the Year
![]() |
2007 has been quite a year for Jennifer Garner, mom to Violet, 2. Her performances, as a hopeful mom in "Juno," and as Roxane in Broadway¹s "Cyrano de Bergerac," have earned her rave reviews, but this hard-working mama is getting kudos not only from the critics, but also from her own home state. |
She was bestowed the honor this year, "for her dedication, work ethic and unique role as role model and ambassador for West Virginia," according to her hometown paper, the Charleston's Sunday Gazette-Mail.
Jen first moved to West Virginia when she was four years old, in 1976, her mother, Pat Garner, told the Gazette-Mail, "She's pretty passionate about her love of West Virginia. She just considers it home." To show her appreciation for the honor, Jen penned an email to the paper, noting what makes West Virginia special to her. "I like to do the things that are familiar. I like to see people I grew up with. I always go to Taylor Books. I love going home to my church - Christ Church United Methodist. I probably visit a Dairy Queen, and I love the farmer's market."

Celebumoms’ Stylish Stationery
It isn't often that I have the time or a reason to send a good old-fashioned letter. The holidays, however, give me an excuse to send out some snail mail, and I love going out to the mailbox to retrieve the ones I get family and friends.
Now that they holidays are over, it's thank you note time, which we all know can be a tedious process...especially when trying to get the kids to sit down and thank Aunt so-and-so for that new pajama set.

Rest assured, because I discovered Bumpercards -- cute, personalized stationery that I can't wait to put my pen on. The designs are classic but stylish, which make the cards ideal for a nice, everyday stationery or thank you notes. Since each item is personalized, seeing their names on the cards will surely encourage your little ones to write their thank you notes too! They can save the extras and write to their pen pals, teachers, grandparents, or anyone they would usually email.
And, Bumpercards are a favorite of celebrity moms as well. Brooke Shields and Courteney Cox requested Bumpercards personalized sets for themselves and their children (Brooke's Rowan and Grier, and Courteney's Coco.) Moms Angelina Jolie, Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Garner (see above), and Katie Holmes and moms-to-be Halle Berry and Christina Aguilera have also received personalized stationery for themselves and their children.
Design yours at www.bumpercards.com.

Nicole Kidman—NOT Pregnant Says Rep
![]() |
Nicole Kidman's publicist has shot down rumors that the Oscar-winning star is pregnant. "It is incorrect," the spokeswoman tells the Melbourne Herald Sun. "She must have had about 30 babies by now (based on the recurring rumors). It's the silly season. As far as we're concerned, it's another rumor out of London." |
The rumors began with the U.K.'s Daily Mail, which said actress had told friends and family members over Christmas that she and her husband of 18 months, crooner Keith Urban, were expecting their first child together.
An unnamed "friend" quoted in the paper is steadfast in her belief that Nicole is indeed three months pregnant. A pregnancy for Nicole doesn't seem too far-fetched, as Nicole recently divulged her desire to add to her brood, which includes daughter Isabella, 15, and son Connor, 12.
"I'm yearning to have one," she told Vanity Fair in September. "I think I would be very sad if I wasn't able to have a baby. Keith knows I want one, and he has been getting there slowly."
For now, however, this one appears to just be another pesky pregnancy rumor.
