Katie Holmes, An Unexpected Model Mom

Nicole Kidman may have been Mrs. Tom Cruise first, but that isn't keeping the current Mrs. Cruise from sending lots of blessings for her coming baby.

In fact, Katie Holmes, the new Mrs. Cruise, feels nothing but joy for her predecessor.  "I'm so happy for her," Katie, 29, said, smiling, of Nicole's pregnancy news. "It's wonderful." Only someone completely happy in her own life would have such sweet words for her husband's ex. Katie and Tom may shocked the world with their relationship in 2005, but it's clear that she's truly come into her own over these past three years -- not just as a mother, but as a woman as well.

Watching Katie's Good Morning America segment yesterday, on which she was promoting her upcoming movie, Mad Money, I couldn't help but notice how much she's changed since the days of Dawson's Creek, long brown hair, and Chris Klein (whom she was engaged to and dated for four years). Now, she's not only a mom to Suri, 2, but called �??mom�?� by step-kids Isabella and Connor as well. She's also got a new glam look that we at Mommywood adore!

Katie may seem all grown up now, but she still knows how to have fun, and she still has that sweet demeanor that first made her America's favorite girl next door. Last Sunday night in New York, she, Tom and Suri shut down FAO Schwartz for a private shopping spree and family fun date. As she told Diane Sawyer on GMA, the whole Cruise family was �??running around, eating ice cream and playing with all of the toys. And Tom and I were playing with a lot of the toys ourselves. It's fun for adults!�?�

It's so sweet to see Katie and Suri sport their cute designer outfits and the matching adorable bobs. Being a mom is a role that Katie clearly cherishes. At a recent Glamour magazine event, Katie described her daughter as �??a very strong woman," adding, "I'm very proud of her. She's actually teaching me a lot �?? probably more than I'm teaching her."

Singer-Songwriter Chantal Pregnant

Musicians Chantal Kreviazuk, 35, and hubby Raine Maida, are expecting another boy! Joining sons Rowan and Lucca Jon, this baby will make it three boys total for the Canadian couple.

Hopefully mom and dad are passing their musical talents on to their sons: Chantal is a platinum artist in Canada, who also writes songs for Kelly Clarkson and Avril Lavigne, and Raine is a member of the band Our Lady Peace. Mom and dad have been collaborating musically for years -- perhaps a family quintet is in their future?

I actually got to hang out with Chantal and Raine at the Toronto Film Fest in 2006, and have to say I have never met a more in-love celeb couple. Congrats to the whole family!

Mommywood’s Weekend Report: It’s a Baby Boom!

Three celeb couples welcomed little ones on Friday -- Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, Courtney Thorne-Smith and husband Roger Fishman, and David Alan Grier and his wife Christine Y. Kim. Friday's boom is reminiscent of April 18, 2006, when two celeb moms, Katie Holmes and Brooke Shields, gave birth to their daughters, Suri and Grier, just down the hall from each other at the same L.A. hospital!

Nicole and Joel welcomed a baby girl, Harlow Winter Kate Madden. Proud papa Joel said of little Harlow, "We are very blessed she's healthy and beautiful and so good already." As for talks of marriage for the couple, Joel and Nicole decided that a trip down the aisle can wait. "Right now our priority is our family and is the baby," Joel said in September. "That's all we've been thinking about. We are in love and are really happy."

Courtney Thorne-Smith, 40, and her hubby, welcomed their first son, Jacob Emerson Fishman. A rep for the �??According to Jim�?� star said, "Mother and dad are thrilled. They say the baby is absolutely gorgeous."

Actor and comedian David Alan Grier and wife Christine Y. Kim had a baby girl, Luisa Danbi Grier. Mom Christine told People magazine after giving birth, "I'm feeling euphoric, and David is ecstatic. He's the perfect proud father."

Rumors circulated that a fourth baby was born on Friday as well. It was reported that Christina Aguilera gave birth to a boy, as she was spotted at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles, where Nicole gave birth. Although the pop star didn't have her baby on Friday, her rep did confirm to People magazine that she and her hubby Jordan did in fact welcome a baby boy, Max Liron Bratman, on Saturday! According to a rep for the couple, Max, �??is a beautiful, healthy baby boy!" As for Christina, the rep reports, "Mom is resting and doing well!"

Melissa Joan Hart: Soon to Welcome Her Second Baby

Speaking of congrats, Mommywood will soon be sending out new baby blessings to Melissa Joan Hart, one-time Sabrina the Teenage Witch star. We caught up with Melissa and her close friend, former ER actress, Kelli Martin, last week in Century City at the Boom Boom Room, the annual celebrity gifting suite that features all the latest and greatest baby and kid gear.

The 30-year-old actress is eight months pregnant with her second child. She looked adorable as ever and, judging from the size of her belly on her tiny frame, ready to introduce that new baby into the world!  Her first child, Mason Walter Wilkerson, just turned two last Friday. How's her toddler adjusting to the idea of having a sibling around? �??He's not really getting it yet,�?� Melissa said with a laugh. �??We tell him there's a baby in there and he says, �??let's see it!' But he's kissing my belly.�?�

How will she and her musician husband Mark deal with any sibling rivalry? �??I think Mason's pretty good at entertaining himself,�?� says Melissa, who has been raising her little one without the help of a nanny. �??But he loves his daddy's attention �?? so it may be a problem!�?� As for Melissa, she's doing great but giving into the inevitable cravings. �??I'm definitely in a sweets phase!�?� she says.

Fashion designer Stella McCartney (daughter of Paul McCartney), 36, welcomed a son, Beckett Robert Lee, on Tuesday in London. Beckett is the third child for Stella and her hubby, Alasdhair Willis, the chairman of a furniture company, and he joins big brother Miller, 2, and sister Bailey, 1. Can haute couture onesies be far behind?
