I would like to know first off how it came to light that she was a porn star before. That’s seems curious. And why didn’t the school know this before hiring her ( or the school district itself )This is a hard one, because on one hand you don’t want to judge one to harshly for the past and what they have changed to be in a better lifestyle, but on the other hand I personally am not comfortable with the idea because her past is full of sexual content and more than likely drugs and unsavory characters. I would have to as a parent in that school at least want to hear her side of the story and why she is doing this job now and why and when she changed her life.Perhaps in affadavit made available or even a video sent to parents. Something like that. Hmmmm, this one is a very hard dilemma in some ways.

People need to mind teir own business.  She is not shooting porn in the classrooms.  Every single parent has clearly has sex a few times, so what’s the big deal?  We are all sexual beings and some folks make money catering to our sexuality.  It is not illegal and she did not hurt anyone.  Watch out for the wolf-in-sheep’s-clothing “good guys” that turn out to be pediphiles.  THEY are the ones that threaten our childrens health and happiness, not porn stars.

I as a male wonder if its not fear from the mothers based on her looks, not for their children but for their husbands.  I dont believe their children are in any kind of danger.Worry more about predators than a porn star.

Are you all kidding? As we may not have all been part of the “sex industry”, do we all have clean slates? I was never a porn star...but I have made choices that I pray my own daughters won’t make. Does that mean I can’t be around children. Is this women presenting herself as a porn star or as a teachers aide. When her past enters the class, then there is a problem.. Until then, let’s see how the children respond. I say...we know her past...how about the teachers we know nothing about!? I agree with sean66.

My questions is this.  How in the world would those kids ever know about her past?  I would hope they are not watching old porn films so that leaves one option...their parents.  If it was a parent that recognized her are we going to question them too?  If she can do her job and is dressing appropriately what is the issue.  I’m pretty sure she isn’t detailing her past career to the students she works with.  Also to make the jump from being in adult films to assuming she used drugs really isn’t a fair statement.  Besides there are lots of people who are recovering addicts and alocholics that work with kids and do just fine.  What she did wasn’t even illegal.

I would hold her to the same standards that any of my daughter’s teachers would be held to.  What are her qualifications, education, and experience with children?  Any criminal record? 

Same things I want to know about anyone who is watching my kid.  What her past job was has no bearing on that.  Lori is right.

I am pleasantly surprised at the comments...I happen to agree...I’ve done some things in my past that are not idealistic but I am a good person and have never hurt anyone let alone any children...Lets change it a little and say she used to be a meth addict, but now has kicked that addiction...everyone would be so proud of her and she would be a role model for kids...but because it’s sex it’s so terrible...doesn’t make any sense to me at all!

I don’t think it’s fair to judge her for her past and fire her. She obviously had a change of heart, and the fact that she left that profession to become a teacher must indicate something positive about her. And it’s not like the kids are going to know she was a porn star...unless the parents aren’t doing their job and their children are watching porn! Of course, now that someone has taken it upon themselves to air her dirty laundry, now the kids will know and it will be an issue.

personally i think that she may really be great with children ...but the dress code should be made very clear.. etc. no low cut tops and short skirts etc....she may have it but she should not reveal it to young children ...give her a chance!

I can’t believe that she is allowed to work with children esp if she has no credentials to teach. There should be strict guidelines such as Educational experience(other than the bedroom), on the job training and references. As an educator myself, I am pretty sure her credentials are questionable.  There are so many other qualified individuals. And as for the comment about her looks, I don’t think many moms are that jealous! The pic MM posted was not very flattering!
