"I've been practicing hard," Chestnut said after competition. "After the second minute I knew my body was cooperating."
The annual event, held at Coney Island, offers prize money of $20,000 to whoever can down the most Nathan's Famous hot dogs in 10 minutes. This wacky American tradition (this is its 94th year) takes center stage every July 4, and is even broadcast live on ESPN.
