6-month girl abandoned in NY taxi

Someone abandoned a 6-month-old girl in the backseat of a cab yesterday in New York City.

"He jumped out and went to a public phone," driver Klever Sailema tells the New York Post. "I didn't see him again."

She has been placed in foster care while investigators search for her relativs.

Kindergartner suspended for Mohawk haircut

The AP reported that an Ohio kindergarten student was suspended because of a mohawk haircut.

Michelle Barile, the mother of 6-year-old Bryan Ruda, said nothing in the school handbook prohibits the haircut, and refuses to change his 'do and will change schools.

Third Grade Students Searched for Missing $5

Fox News reports that third-grade students at a Kentucky school were searched when an envelope with $5 in it went missing. A group of teachers had the students line up with their shoes and socks off and were patted down. The search turned up nothing but has angered many parents.

"The way they treat our students is ridiculous," said Zlatko Skuljan, the father of a 9-year-old girl in the class.
