Dear Liz Lange -

Call me vain but I refuse to wear soccer mom sweats for morning drop off and pick up at my daughter's school. I want to look chic and pulled together, even though I only have a few seconds in the morning -- literally! -- to throw on my clothes. What should be my stylish carpool outfit?

Liz Lange says, How about a pair of slim jeans or cigarette pants with a cool sweater or a cropped boxy jacket with big buttons. Or throw on a modified trench coat or a belted car coat -- both cover a multitude of sins and look seamlessly stylish. Slip on sweet ballet flats and you're out the door. If you want to create a signature look, try tying a scarf with a graphic print around your purse strap. You'll look chic and put-together but you won't be overdoing it. And if you stick to basic color schemes, it will be easy to look this good all the time.
